Prevent Water Retention
Today, the golden mean is a universal metaphor that the body, especially our internal mechanisms, works best in the state of equilibrium.
When fluctuations move in one direction or the other, they have an unpleasant effect. Stopping water can be particularly burdensome – we feel heavy, our limbs swell, we gain weight, we can be irritated and lose concentration.
How can we prevent water from “gaining water” in advance and enjoy every day without such troubles?
Drink a lot of water.
It’s trivial, but most effective. It is recommended to drink at least 2-2.5 litres of water daily. This amount may seem “cosmic”, but remember that some of the water is supplied with food. Active people should pay particular attention to proper hydration before, during and after the training unit. When we consume less than 1 litre of water a day, our body stores water in the subcutaneous tissue to reserve.
Avoid excess salt in your diet
Unfortunately, salt is not only added to the prepared dishes. If our diet is rich in processed products, we often provide the body with a quantity of sodium exceeding the recommended level of the standard.
Osmotic imbalance is then caused by too much sodium (a component of salt) and potassium. Water, after escaping from the cells, lingers in the tissues forming swelling. Elimination of processed products and salty snacks in the first place will eliminate excess sodium and restore balance.
Remember about physical activity
Too little movement, sedentary lifestyle or work, causes that blood and lymph do not circulate properly. Slower circulation does not transport liquids to the cells quickly enough. They create stagnation in the tissues, and thus we feel annoying swelling of the limbs. Remember, 30 minutes of physical activity a day is enough to see the first effects of the best treatment you can serve to your body.
Use herbs in your daily diet
We especially recommend nettle, which has detoxifying properties. If you use herbs in your diet, remember to use them systematically. Infusions should be used 3 times a day to observe their effects. In addition to nettle, it is worth reaching for parsley, dandelion, cleansing or horsetail.
Vegetables and fruits
Especially those rich in potassium – avocados, bananas, tomatoes and celery – will help restore the osmotic balance. Increasing the amount of this macro-nutrient will help to balance the level between sodium and potassium. By consuming more fruit and vegetables, you get rid of excess water from your tissues.
Take care to get rid of the excess water.
Lack of sleep significantly disturbs the hormonal balance of our body. Adrenal hormones, i.e. cortisol (stress hormone), aldosterone (I control the water balance), testosterone and estrogen have an impact on the water balance, while deregulated hormones cause water accumulation in the body. It is not only worth to get some sleep.
In addition, we recommend eating products (supplementation) rich in magnesium and omega-3 fatty acids to help reduce cortisol levels in the blood.
Before the period, pay attention to the consumed products
Water storage takes place 10 to 7 days before the period and this is also due to hormonal changes. It is worth paying attention in advance to the diet, limit the consumption of salt, processed products or sweets before menstruation, so as not to worsen the physiological state of the body.
Avoid alcohol
Alcohol doesn’t just dehydrate. Its consumption is a challenge for the liver – the most important detoxifying organ. Increased liver function is manifested by swelling and dilatation of blood vessels, which facilitates the penetration of water into tissues and the formation of swelling. So drink alcoholic beverages as seldom as possible.
Reduce the number of carbohydrates in your diet
Take a special look at simple sugars, limit the consumption of snacks in the form of sweets, eat wholemeal products, rich in fibre. Remember that in case of fiber-rich products, you should increase the water intake.
So not only do you irrigate your body, but fiber will also take care of the intestinal microflora, thus reducing the accumulation of water in the intestines. An additional advantage of the intestinal balance together with proper hydration is the elimination of constipation!
Lymphatic drainage
Made independently with a Chinese bubble or in a professional massage studio, will help stimulate the transport of the existing fluids and will help them to let go of the body.
The therapeutic effect is focused on improving lymph flow to lymph nodes. At the same time, it helps in the inflow of blood rich in oxygen by supporting the immune system and removing toxins from the body.
